Trying to decide which one is better no hands on experience with woodman but I’ve handled mrx. Just would like some thoughts.
Thanks guys!

If you had both in your hands the decision would be a no-brainer.

These are two different universes. The G3 is absolutely top notch. I have one in .45 and love it. I’m buying a .50 barrel for it as well shortly.

A few advantages of the G3:
Weighs about a pound less
Much higher quality design and build
Smokeless-capable (Brux or McGowen) barrel
LRMP Module or 209 ignition
Faster twist (22 twist) available (the 1:28” twist on the MRX is too slow)
Ability to switch barrels (.40,.45,.50)

P.S. CVAs are known for poor fit/finish and numerous issues.

Thanks for input another thing I was wondering was if you can swap barrels

Woodman is going to be a much better rifle, I just can't get over how ugly they look

@ElDiablito do you have a Woodmega as well?

The new style stock on the Patriots is much better than the original. I I like it. The original - I’m with you - not so much.

Yes, I’ve got two Woodmegas as well. Fantastic rifles.

What barrel lengths and any idea what they weigh?
24” McGowen (1” shank) OEM contour
26” Brux 1.1” shank

I don’t know off the top of my head what the barreled actions weigh. Lots of variables to the finished weight - type of stock, scope/no scope, brake/no brake, ramrod type, etc.

My McGowen in a synthetic stock with a lighter weight scope, brake, carbon ramrod is about 8.5 lbs.

For probably 90% of even serious hunters, the MRX is more gun than they'll ever need and is the smarter, more practical choice. But for that 10% who dream in ballistics calculators and own torque wrenches, only the Woodman will do.

Either way, you're choosing between two champions. You can't make a bad decision here.

Can anyone speak to the ergonomics of these two MZ’s? I have a couple of cva optima’s and the stock quality and ergo’s is really bad. It’s astounding to me…do they ever even shoot their own product?
