Blood doesn’t mean shit. I’m not saying I hate my brothers but they’re not even close to the same level as my best friend. He could ask me to walk in front of a bus and I’d do it in a heartbeat for him. He’s been there for me at the darkest moments in my life without me asking for it. He’s sacrificed and unselfishly put my well being ahead of his own. My own brothers have never come close to anything like that. People put too much emphasis on family according to blood.

This. My 3 brothers, I wouldn't trust my life with. My best friend, I'd give my life for him and he would do the same. We damned near had to a couple times.
