Wiser Precision BA-7 Sparrow---> Q&A + Review

How is the fit inside a bino pouch? No problems, or does it catch a bit when putting binos away?
I've tried to take a few pictures at the range, but need better lighting to show within.
...then I keep forgetting.

Hold tight, thanks for the reminder

I love mine, for me, I forget it's there most of the time. It slides in and out of my bino harness with no issues, I can't recommend one enough, with the only downside being the marks it leaves on the body when you decide to take it off.

I’m looking at a higher power pair of binoculars and was wondering if it would be better to spend the money on a stabilized pair our try to get better glass and use this mount and trekking pole. Is it stable enough to glass and maybe do some digiscoping or go stabilized if I didn’t want to carry a tripod?

The Sparrow is stable in how it holds the optic. I don't think you would have consistent success trying to digiscope on a trekking pole because one have would have to hold and steady the monopod trekking pole.

Would it be stable enough to glass with an 16x or 18x pair of binoculars from like a seated position or is it not ideal for something that high power?

What's the smallest diameter where you'd want it?
About 2.3"........~58.5mm.

That trekking pole hole is what interests me. At only 28oz, I've decided to just carry the Kowa in my pack full time instead of hauling around 15's. Since I don't sit and glass much at all, the trekking pole option would be great for quick scans or verifying what I'm seeing.

I'll see if I can find something round about that size today

I have one of these on an older set of heavy, porro prism Nikon 16s with a pretty stout taper. Sits on a tripod looking out my back window 24/7. It used to slip in the clamp and the offside barrel would droop. I took it off and wrapped the barrel in friction tape. It has never moved again.
I also have this adapter on a set of 10x42s that were pretty tight in the harness. Adding the clamp didnt bother the tight fit at all. Barely notice it's there.

Yea to substitute for a tripod?
I think it could work fine, but wouldn't be "ideal" and would take some thought into how you sit.

When I think of this as a tripod substitute it isn't for extended glassing. When I think of greater than 10X (except NL) I think of extended glassing. I think of you wanted to get a better look at a fixed something it would work well. If you wanted to grid, by definition, it wouldn't work because nothing locks in pan/tilt. Keep in mind too, that there's no mechanical lock, so you need opposing force to be steady provided by muscle or leverage.

When I glass on the move with the trekking pole, I try to pick spots that I can lean back against a tree WITH a fallen log or rock in front to put my pole on. I'll set the pole bottom out far enough from my body so it is angled back a scoosh, and then I am essentially pulling myself and the optic back into the tree. I only expect to pick up animals moving or out in the open, or bedded within 300 yards.

If someone really thought out a supported seated position with elbows on knees, body braced, or some other way of solid touch points, it could work for some folks.

Sounds like I’ll be better suited throwing the adapter on a lower power chest binocular and use a stabilized pair if I want to really want get a closer look without a tripod. Any chance one size would fit sig hdx pro

I haven't been by a Scheels yet to see about any of the Sig products.

Cindy's water bottle is 3.125", is bet 3.25 is max to be able to get a couple turns on the bolt for holding the strap down.
