Rocky Mountain elk, which are now huntable in Wisconsin, were extirpated from by the 1880s then re-introduced in 1995.

I've been missing the grouse hunting there real bad...this is not helping, lol.
Can't decide if I will retire back to the upper midwest or not, great hunting, long archery seasons wonderful fishing...I think this could keep me happily busy during retirement years.

I imagine those elk weren't nearly as hard to sneak up on as a Colorado elk. Great job though, what a great oportunity and hopefully the herd keeps growing.

The hunter is a super bowhunter and has had an incredible year! Good to see the tag go to an avid bowhunter that put it to good use!
