I bought a Singer 4423 and have been picking sewing back up. The many posts from others on here gave me the confidence to give it a try.

I started with making a duffle bag that matches the carry on size for flights 22x14x9. My dimensions ended up slightly less as I didn’t account for some material loss with sewing and installing the zipper.

Fabric was 1000d cordura with a 400 pack cloth liner. Below are some pictures during construction and the final product.

Up next is a purple bag for the wife for our Alaska trip this fall and a blaze orange panel for my SG Solo bag. I could use some more practice but overall am very happy with the final product.

It’s been a while. I made a blaze orange duffle for our daughter similar to the ones above. Also made a blaze orange piece for my SG Solo bag. There were some iterations here trying to get it to attach right but it lets me put my glassing pad and tripod on the pack.

I also made a bag for my tire chains. We will see how well cordura holds up to a set.
