What are some quality less expensive alternatives to insulated Kenatreks?
Going to need something with ankle support.
I've been using Mucks for deer for the past few years, but I'm not confident they will work in the mountains.

Schnees. Buy something good or regret. I'm guessing someone has had some luck with a cheaper boot, but why tempt fate. What about LL Beans?

I'm all about high end boots. I own four pairs of Whites and However I just had a kid, bought a house, a new car and I'm down to my last week of work before I'm laid off for the year. Just can't swing $400 on boots.
I wasn't even planning on elk hunting this year or I would already of bought an expensive pair of boots. But when a few weeks before opening day you find that your whitetail herd that has supplied your family with meat for over 30 years has been pretty much completely whipped out by EHD... You have to do the best you can with what you have.
There has to be a decent pair of boots to get me by for this rifle season. Not even talking Walmart boots, I don't live in a trailer park lol. I can spend a couple hundred but not much more. How about Danners? Rocky?

The Schnee Hunters are a little over 200. Might want to check ebay as Kenetrek sells their returns there. Could be some other good ones out there. Not sure exactly how much insulation or tread type you are looking for.
