Wingbone Calls

I've dinked around a little with making wingbone calls, but got semi-serious about it this winter.

First, I rigged up a turner for curing the thread epoxy. The motor is pilfered from a junk microwave (turntable motor). Threw together the base and frame from scrap wood I had laying around. Slipped a piece of PVC tubing over the motor spindle, which the doubled copper wire slips into to drive the whole works. The copper wire goes through the wingbones and through a hole on the right hand frame upright. Simple and effective.

These are 3 bone calls, of course epoxied at the joints and wrapped with rod thread (I used to be into building fishing rods). The hardest part is the actual wrapping of the thread. Sometimes can be a pain to keep the wraps tight. Thought these turned out pretty good for my first serious attempt.
