Windquester Sleeping Pad

I would be hesitant to buy anything from companies other than Thermarest, Nemo, Sea to Summit, and maybe Big Agnes. The warranty is a huge value with the big pad companies (I've used pad warranties 4 times). It's easily worth an extra $50 for me as I know I will have a working pad for 20 years with the warranty.

As to your question: 8.5R value in a 20oz/1 liter size: this seems a bit ambitious, it looks like it is a knock off the technology we've seen come out in the past few years with horizontal internal reflective baffles pioneered by Thermarest.

Note that the king of weight/R-Value performance is the Thermarest NeoAir XTherm NXT is getting an R-Value of 7.3 in a 16oz package but is 2.4L packed. There are a lot of pads with high R-Values that aren't actually comfortable and have cold spots. The small baffle design is usually pretty comfortable however!

I agree that the warranty is worth quite a bit and piece of mind. The R-value is per the ATSM so I was a little surprised by that and the fact they paid the money to do that testing.

I have the thermarest and don’t plan on moving away from it but this one has definitely peaked some interest in me. Has some pretty impressive claims.
