Anyone have experience with the Winchester Ultimate Shadow rifles? Someone offered to trade a stainless one in 30-06 for a pistol of mine (HK P30), so I'm debating. I did some reading...Sounds like they're built well (went back to the pre-64 action?), controlled feed, rugged, and pretty accurate. He said he put 40 rounds through it, so pretty new. Thanks in advance!

It’s a standard model 70 in a cheap stock. That’s the only hiccup. Would be great to drop the barreled action in a manners/McMillan/B&C/HS stock and ditch the factory Tupperware.

Seems like a few guys on another forum were doing just that... I just have two P30s, so I was considering grabbing something different, and I like 30-06. Sounds like it's a decent foundation to build on.

I have one in 7-08 that I bought used. It’s been my favorite rifle for hunting until I got my field craft 308. Stock is cheap plastic but is good enough for whitetail and hog hunting.

How do you like the Fieldcraft? I held one for the first time two weeks ago and was impressed. The trigger felt great.

I had one several years back, it was a basic m70 and shot really well. I’ve always liked the m70 platform and I wish I’d kept the gun.
