My local store has a Model 70 Extreme Weather in 6.5 CM for $1300. It is Portugal manufactured. If it were New Haven it would be in my gun cabinet. Looks new. Worth it?

My model 70 extreme MB is my favorite rifle. It is in 308 and shoots lights out. I’ve gotten hand loads with 150 grain and 165 grain interlock that stack in near the same hole at 100.

I just picked up a model 70 super grade for my wife in 30.06. With very basic load development I have it shooting sub moa. Pretty much right out of the box I installed a timney trigger as I've learned the MOA trigger really isnt worth fooling with if it doesnt feel good. This was with new brass and less than 50 shots through the barrel so i expect it to shoot even better. 20251218_163354.jpg

It's a solid rifle. I have the same model in .270 Win and have taken two Caribou with it. I've only stretched it out to 500 on an 8" gong but hits were consistent. I've been in a Slug/BP zone for the last 3 years but will pull it back out after the new year for load development. The last round I fired from it killed my 2022 Caribou.

Really good rifle. Is it worth the price? Eh. If youre just a model 70 fan than yea. Itll be well made and probably shoot well. Best bang for buck in terms of landing bullets on targets? Nah.

I have one in 30-06, it’s a great gun even though I don’t really hunt with it anymore. Kobe was also easy to get a load worked up for, in fact I’d say it was incredibly easy and over the years I’ve had it, I was able to get it shooting lots of different loads very well.
