Glad you posted, I would have forgot to add photos. I'm torn on selling it because it took me a long time to figure it out

Factory sporter barrel on your gun? If so, are there large gaps on either side of the barrel?

Thanks

Yep factory Sporter barrel with gaps on either side. I was planning on using a proof or carbon six carbon barrel at some point. Now I'm thinking of selling the whole rifle and starting with a better platform to build off of.

There's nothing wrong with building on that m70. Great extractor, BULLETPROOF trigger and no floating recoil lug to worry about. If you are around the greater spokane area, I'd trade a brand new never fired rem adl and some cash if you wanted to go that route.

Remington gets a lot of attention because they're the honda civic of rifles.....but winchester made fine platforms as well.

I have several full custom and semi custom's built off M70's. They are fantastic platforms. I much prefer them to any factory action!

What I'll very likely end up doing is ordering a McMillan game warden stock and some day rebarreling this rifle. I'm just not a fan of the bulkiness of this a3 stock for MTN hunting. I will say there isn't a thing wrong with the stock or action, but I've been dealing with trying to find a decent stock since I was in my teens. Had I known then what I know now, it would already be in a great stock. Oh well. I've got other rifles I shoot more, but this one is always dead nuts accurate.

Hell my buddy had it ringing steel at 1200 yards in the junk Tupperware stock and cheap scope.

Bump. Weight is just a hair under 48oz for those wondering.

Bump. I would take $1200 for the whole bundle including rifle, factory and Mcmillan stock, Witt brake. Could throw in some brass for the right offer.
