I still think a 308 suppressor has some merit. I just read a suppressor manufacturer state that their 30 cal can is heavier just to hold up to 300 RUM.
That's 100% validation of my assumption.
It's never going to be 6mm or 5.5mm small and light, but they can be lighter at the very least. A short action, non-magnum 30 cal can would cover creedmoors and 7-08, 243, etc. Seems like that covers a lot of guns.
