Not surprising. My neighbor has goats. Coyotes climbed up an 8' chainlink fence to get the goats. They killed one of their goats, so they put barbed wire around the top. They crawled the fence again, left chunks of fur in the barbed wire, and got another one. And this is in the city of Decatur, Ga., basically Atlanta! It upset her so much that they got rid of the goats.

Not only will they scale a fence they will also chase your pet into the house through the doggie door the dog or cat ran through. Smart vermin for sure and will kill people on occasion. Kill'em all ! But the wolves first !

We are having this problem right now where I live, coyotes are killing all the people's pets that live in the development above me. We are calving out cows right now and so far they have not come after any calves. I can't ever get them in when I'm hunting them but my wife sees them out in the middle of the day while I'm at work. Only good thing is I don't have cats running around the farm any more!

I shot one a few mornings ago 102 yards from the front door of my house. Had one foot in,and one on the deck. 3 of them killed a deer right there that night and we're cleaning up the mess still at 7:30am. I got two more followup shots at the other two but my moving targets shooting is a bit out of practice. I have a scope inbound for the AR, and having the barrel threaded for suppressor. Hopefully get another opportunity to redeem my self. Next fall I intend to get permission to hunt the surrounding lands and hopefully thin them out at least a little. I have a 9 year lab that has been a babied house dog all his life and now we are in the country, with critters everywhere. I fear he's in for a few lessons the hard way.

We've got small goats fenced in with a 40" field fence on 4 acres. The other morning I looked out the window and saw a coyote standing in the road trailing some deer. He was 50 yards from my front door and the tracks in the snow showed he actually came to the front door. Two of the deer decided they didn't like him and chased him down the road and out of sight. Why that coyote would mess with those deer with two tasty little goats less than 200 yards away I'll never know.

We've had coyotes along the edge of the fence a number of times and a red fox once but never have I seen one in the fenced in pasture. I figure it's only a matter of time. I've got a suppressor on order and can use it on the AR or the 6mm Creedmoor so I actually hope to find one close enough. People shoot them all the time around me but they're still here and sneakier than ever.
