Has anyone tried a lift rs or a Hoyt enduro for women? Or any recommendations for a good bow for my wife to shoot some tacs or maybe elk? And a recommended arrow for her

Quite a few ladies shooting the RS and like it, not enough data yet for me to speak to the enduro but the specs look great.
What is her skill level and poundage comfort? A TAC arrow and ELk arrow might be quite a bit different depending on the variables

I definitely agree on the tac vs elk thing. Should worded that better as more of an all around bow. lol. definitely beginner skill level. I want to try her out at around 40-45 pounds to start with and see how comfortable she is with it and go from there.

Draw length?

Every situation is different, but it can be tricky at times getting a newer lower draw weight shooter into a flagship bow. Its becoming easier as manufacturers are increasing offerings in easier to draw options in addition to lower weight options. Just make sure whatever she chooses she can draw smoothly and hold it comfortably.

Depending on where she lands with draw weight and length, that will give some guidance into an arrow build. VERY generally speaking I would likely be looking at something in the 5mm category with a light gpi that put me in the middle if the spine chart with room to add point weight/draw weight for clean broadhead flight, but still really light for trajectory during TAC events.

It’s been a minute sense I measured her but if I had to guess probably 25-27ish on the draw length. She has incredible shoulder strength, that’s why I was curious about a bout a bow with a little more poundage options. She had an older Elite and pulled it back with ease, granted I’m not sure what the poundage was at. She has great form and a good shot process, also another reason I was gonna upgrade her. I was kinda guessing a 5mm arrow.

My wife shoots the lift RS and loves it. She has it set at 26” and 41lbs and was able to get a pass through on a whitetail with a 345gr arrow and Magnus black hornet 4 blade. She shot it and the Eva Shockey Gen 3 and found the Eva to be jumpy and have a worse draw cycle at the same weight and draw length. My wife is very new to archery, and she’s able to consistently shoot 8” groups at 40yds. The Lift RS was an easy choice. The lift RS was also 15fps faster than the Eva, which is a big deal when you’re shooting short draw and low weight. With that in mind, her Lift RS was coming in a good bit below IBO, but that may be just the chrono we used since other people report similar speeds to lift 29.5s.

The new SD Hoyts should be a gem. I don't think there's a big gain in efficiency though in specific "women's" cams.

Omnias and Allures are quick and manageable bows.

I'd stay away from any other women's specific bows, and simply look for "men's" bows that can be ordered with the correct limbs and dl. I'd also avoid the Mathews with a new shooter because dl changes won't be as dynamic if you aren't standing in a shop with the right modules.

I would only choose shafts that allow a single insert that is 25 grains or lighter. .246id, Spartans, or anything that takes an aluminum HIT and has the wall thickness to not need a collar.

She loves that Hoyt, but I don't like tuning it with the shim system it has. I tried to buy her the new version but she says no.

The SET system Elites I can tune to any shooter and most arrow combos in a handful of shots. Deadlock Bowtechs are a close second, and the Darton perfect tune stuff are up there as well. I haven't played around enough with the system Mathews has even though I owned a LiftX and have an Arc ordered.

In my eyes, tuning features should be the number priority when searching for a bow for a new shooter. If you are helping and see some wonky arrow flight, testing a change takes a minute and a wrench standing on the line. Learning in the time that it has taken me to write this if wonkiness is shooter or setup minimizes frustration.

The alternative is sticking someone with a potentially poor flying arrow "while they learn", or going back and forth from press to range just to send an arrow or two.

My wife shoots an elite allure currently. She went to that from a mathews avail. The elite seems much more forgiving for her and she draws it back and holds it without as much struggle.

The elite also tunes well and seems to zip her lightweight easton 5.0s at a decent speed though I've not chrono'd them.
