Lake Winnebago, Lake Butte des Morts ??
Was ice fishing on Butte des Morts many years ago and had a huge one swam under me with real clear ice.
Scared the crap out of me.

They do it here in Michigan on Black Lake also. They open the season with a quota set by biologists, and this years season was over in 36 minutes!

Nick got a nice one. Bigger than any of the ones I have speared. Congrats. This picture is the largest one speared so far this year. 82 inches, 174 pounds.

Driving on the lake and tossing pointy sticks in a hole in the ice. Winnebago in the winter. Some kids father got one the year I was in 4th grade. He smoked it up and shared it with the whole school. That was casting pearls before swine. Us little buggers had no clue.
