From what I've seen, close to all of Virginia's Sheriffs have declared they will be 2A sanctuary counties. I'm not sure how all that will play out but what a mess..

I feel like that never plays out or as relevant for the good guys as we want it be. I highly doubt all the Northern VA Sheriffs are going to sit out enforcement. Sad to see this coming down the pike in VA. Glad to see some areas of the state are still common sense with the Sheriffs standing up. N. VA ruined the whole dang place.

Because the last majority of people are followers, not leaders. They didn't believe they want to be led, they want to be led.

Most of the people who voted for this are dependent on the government. We went from a nation that valued independence and knew that dependency was antithetical to liberty and self-governance to one where the federal and state governments are the largest employers.

It’s the logical result of having income taxes and “needing to justify them.” There’s a letter by FDR where he explicitly says that the result of his programs will be to make voters dependent on the party that provides the benefits.

Our elite education system has been broken for a long time and all it does now is turn out dependents.

I see a recurring statement in this thread and many places elsewhere that these politicians are "stupid".

THEY ARE NOT STUPID! Almost every one has a law degree (or equivalent bar tending degree) and are raking in money hand over fist - not usually symptoms of stupidity. "Corrupt" is the correct descriptor.

They would much rather you think they are stupid (incompetent) than to recognize they are corrupt. All this "stupid liberal" action is an orchestrated attack on our country and way of life. Actions by traitors enriching themselves at the country's expense or deliberately undermining our stability. Constantly chipping away at our rights, the ability to communicate freely and the ability to resist and/or defend ourselves.

To think of them as "stupid" is to overlook the actual facts, minimize and further enable their criminal behavior.

Case in point: Virginia's current overreach:

Exactly, I’m so tired of reading comments on social media and whatnot implying that they’re just stupid. As if they have good intent, just trying to make the world safer, but just don’t understand how things really work.

In reality, they know exactly how things work, and they have zero intent of making anybody safer. If people can’t even recognize this basic truth, then how to we even start to effectively combat it?

Well there are two options they are either stupid or they are evil/ power hungry. I’m not sure it’s conspiratorial at this point.

Realize every law, ordinance, regulation, tax that holds our society together is ultimately enforced at the end of a muzzle. Seriously everyone, even something as small as minor tickets if ignored long enough it will earn you a summons and then a warrant and eventually men with guns will arrive and if you resist they will kill you. So at a certain point you have to ask. Why should law abiding citizens be so restricted on their ability to own firearms while the state is unlimited, especially if they prove they don’t have our best interests in mind.
