Just wanted to get everyone's' thoughts on this. I'm taking bias into account on this website.

Why do you or do you not like MTN OPS products? Compared to established supplement companies' products?

Cause its marketed towards hunters so it must be better then all the companies that have been established for 20+ years with proven products?

I've always wondered the same thing. I think it's great marketing on Mtn ops part. I doubt their products are any better then half a dozen other companies.

Well for one you can support a company that supports hunting. If you have a question or concern Casey or Jordan are easily reachable. They are great guys, and are activily involved in the company. There's no magic suppliments out there, you gotta work hard to get results. I switched from ON to MTN OPS basically for the 2 reasons I stated. Plus I like to be able to put a face to the companys I support. Everything I have tried of there's has been on point taste wise. I honestly have no issues with anything I've used of theirs.

Cuz I have a man crush on a guy named Cam and want to take cool selfies like he does.

That was in jest, no supplements for me. I am more than happy with my mountain fitness with a modest workout program, semi-healthy eating, and more beers than I should in the offseason. Come September I am mentally dialed in 100%. But I am still not 30 and I may reconsider if I’m lagging as I age.

Supplements scare me in general. They always have but I watched a Frontline documentary a few weeks ago that was very alarming. I summed it up in another thread but the takeaway is that the vast majority of these companies don’t know what is really in the products via scientific analysis. I want to climb mountains still when I am 70 and don’t want kidney problems or anything to put that in danger. At a minimum I question the benefits of supplement programs, and at a maximum they may be dangerous. As with anything in life it’s on the risk reward spectrum and risk takes that one when it comes to supplements in my opinion. I'm sure I'll get some folks riled up but that's just my take on supplements in general.

Not big into supplements/skeptical myself. Have to say that their marketing campaign appears borderline genius - somewhat curious to how much endorsement money is being paid to "industry celebrities"

I was pretty into bodybuilding/powerlifting for awhile. There are a lot more crappy products on the market than there are good ones, but there are supplements that are effective and based on science that have been used for a great length of time and haven't shown any danger.

www.labdoor.com is a great tool for researching supplements for people that don't have the time to research labels and what they mean. Would love to see something like this done on mtn ops and wilderness athlete.

Well for one you can support a company that supports hunting.
This is a great point possibly. I've never purchased any mtn ops or wilderness athlete products because I have supplements that I have been using for years and believe in. However, if someone was actually giving back to the hunting community it could lead me to research more and possibly convert me.
I haven't paid much attention to what mtn ops and wilderness athlete do but are either of them using their resources to fight for things like public land and hunting rights? Looking for direct involvement outside of just sponsoring people that do.

Good point. Marketing to hunters is not that same as supporting hunters.

Marketing is Marketing. Does it make it different no but does it work who knows. Is it safe who knows.Do you need this stuff not really if your diet is on point or you are eating enough to keep up with your workouts etc., Do I like the mtn ops stuff I do like the multi vitamin but the other stuff with my stomach it doesnt allow me to take it. I used to take other protein powders and my cholesterol went through the roof. Diet is going to be more key then any supplement. I would worry what other stuff any supplement is exposed to since it is man made.

I am not sold on MTNOPS or any supplement company for that matter. I do however have a tub of Muscle Milk and looked at the ingredients just this morning and there were more items I couldn't pronounce than anything else. Compare that to MTNOPS Ammo and you will know everything that is in there. I really don't see how Ammo could be harmful in anyway. You need to refrigerate it if that tells you anything.

You guys should check out the ingredients of Ammo, it is pretty impressive.

They've got a niche market with little competition. I drink water, exercise, and attempt to eat decently.

Two things,
yes, they're a sponsor, so I'm biased but working in the fitness industry for 24 years, I've learned that some supplements are good and that some people will supplement, so MTN OPS seems a good choice for hunters that supplement based on feedback from members and writers who've tried it
Also, I've tried their Yeti- it worked will for me in the energy department and curbed hunger well.

as pointed out above, nothing replaces good diet with whole foods minimally processed and good moderate exercise.

I can't comment on their products, although they seem a tad expensive when compared to industry staples for similar products. That's the reason I asked.

I also noticed that the guys that were very high, or sponsored by wilderness athlete, have jumped ship. I'm not a fitness expert at all, but I've been working out and taking supplements longer than I have been hunting for. My personal favorite supplement is the plain whey from the bulk bins at Winco.

I want to bump this because I would like some feedback from MT OPS on the dosages. I currently use PreJym and Projym. This stuff is amazing with Jim being a scientist he puts out every ingredient and dosage on the website and bottle. All I do is put scoops in a ziplock bag and I'm ready to roll. Does BB.com support hunting? Probably not, However if I knew I was getting quality ingredients and and dosages from MT OPS I would love to give them a try. I'm a sucker for companies who support hunting and this website. I've tried BSN no xplode as well and the only thing that helped was my constipation.

Like most everything else, I would say use whatever works well for you. I am loyal to a company that I have been using for 12 years. I see no reason in switching because Mtn. Opts. markets to hunters. I am sure they have great products. Just not willing to change from something that has worked for me for a long time.

They do participate in 2% for conservation and they also have their operation conquer hunger. I don't mind paying for products that work, taste good, and some of the money goes back into our community. I don't see myself going back to ON or cellucor anytime soon.
