Just had a concerning issue with my Ultra Rest while shooting arrows. The rest dropped without being shot twice and at the end repeatedly. I’m bringing it in to the bow shop next weekend. Reliability is paramount and this is going to drive me nuts until then, so wanted to see if others have encountered the same and/or know what is going on.
I bought the rest new in February and since then have shot around 1200 arrows without issue. Today around my 5th arrow the rest dropped on its own when I hooked my release to the D Loop. Figured I did not push the lever hard enough and carried on. Around my 20th arrow it happened again. I pulled off my arrow and pushed the rest up and down a few times without replicating the problem. On shot 43 it happened again and continued to happen every time I hooked my release. Then it continued to happen when I pushed the rest into place without a nocked arrow or hooking my release.
I noticed the string connecting the release to the cable was touching my quiver but after moving it around to different positions the issue continued. I tried it again at home indoors and did not replicate the issue.
Other info: It is 80 degrees and very humid where I am today. This is the hottest weather I have shot in so far and I’m wondering if the issue is related. A couple of weeks ago I increased draw weight from 60 to 70 and switched to stiffer and heavier arrows. Have put around 200 arrows through under that setup without issue until now.
Any diagnoses or fixes others can share are appreciated.
