Why every liberal millennial.......

Not a bullshit notion to identify with another age group culturally because you were only raised around and grew up with that era of people. It is however a bullshit notion to identify as something factually and biologically not true about ones self.

Your age is a fact that is as biologically immutable as having an X and Y chromosome or two X chromosomes. You not liking that fact does not change it.

Hunting by generation:

Boomer- taught by grandfather/father, part of growing up. 270 because that’s what JOC had or 30-06. Army surplus camo, red plaid.

Gen X- taught by Dad, maybe grandfather. Poured through Field and Stream, Outdoor Life, read books. Self taught, trial and error. TreBark, Mossy Oak. 270/30-06.

Millenial- Google, Forums. Dad’s not home because he’s out boinking some broad. $500 monkey suit because that’s what he read about, 6.5 CM because it’s like the latest iPhone. 15 minutes in the words and frustrated because he hasn’t seen something. Pics on Instagram before the knife comes out. Talks about his feelings.

So gen-X are a bunch of cheating, neglectful parents that have failed to pass on what they received and are to be blamed for everything? Or perhaps we should skip painting a group of people as divers as trust fund spiffs from New York and Ozark hillbillies as all the same.

I’m not talking about trying to identify with someones age, that was not clear. I’m talking about identifying with another group of people’s mentality and culture.

100%

And somewhere between Gen X and Millenials “hunting stuff” became finely tuned and pored-over “systems” that for some reason need constant tinkering and updating else they stop working...

“Systems”, I thought “kit” was the new term for this? My wife just refers to it as all the shit in the extra bedroom that takes up space.

My Grandfather was a .257 Roy/7 RM/300WM guy. The 257 was the first cf rifle I ever shot. Was a thing of beauty; MK5, gorgeous bluing, beautiful wood grain, rosewood tipped, I truly lusted over that gun. Shot the 7 that day as well but passed on the 300. Still don't like shooting a 300.

i thought i was lighting a campfire but now i'm running from a bushfire.

Hogs are extremely fun to hunt, great animal to get a first timer out on. Being a native to Central California hunting these stinking, destructive critters is one of my favorite pastimes. The article was decent, I read it and it gives me hope that little by little we can convert more of the ass backward liberal urbanites.
But, but you said the word millennial, it’s a trigger to all millennials and boomers to take up arms against each other. I try to strive for the moral high ground and see both sides of the discussion, but hearing the word millennial is just too much for some to handle.

Ok, I can see how there is a difference between 'identify with' and 'identify as.'

[/QUOTE]Not exactly. Most soldiers returned in 46 and 47.

No, that's classic OCD. I'm a 1962 Boomer, right at border of gen x and I tinker and fool with stuff like crazy. Party, because I'm a city boy and an engineer and can do this in the burbs. However, being an engineer, and frugal all my purchases are painstakingly researched. And although I'm continually looking at new stuff I don't buy a lot. I used my dad's (he came of age in Korea) 30-06 and bought my own 30-06 in the 90s. I bought a 308 for my wife and a 7mm Rem mag for me 15 years ago. My 308 and 30-06 aren't exciting, but I can't sell them or buy new ones. Bill
