Why choose a tent without a floor?

Are you using Rota locura or MSRs? And how've they held up for you? Price falls into that range for good Christmas present from an in-law that I would hesitate to buy for myself.

I'm pleased with my BPWD Luna, but would not use it without a nest in bug infested areas if the temps will accommodate mosquitoes and black flies.

The carbon fiber are from RL. I hear you about the nest, I also have a MLD nest with the CF floor but I rarely need it. I usually just use a UL bivy.

Seekoutside just replaced their bt-2 with a shelter called the Silvertip. They added guy outs and changed the seam orientation. It looks like a good option for solo/partner trips.
