Who's Over 50 years old In Push-Up Challenge?

I can see there are many in the under 50 year old category so was curious how many gents over 50 are in it? I took a pretty severe cut on heel of my hand from a jagged piece of metal 4 days ago so I have a minor setback! (grin) My palm/heel is very sore & tender & haven't been able to do any push-ups but it should be good in a week, I'll get after it then! Good Luck guys!

Just do knuckle push-ups Paul! :)

I'm not over 50 yrs old, read the title wrong. Big props to the older guys still training.

The coolest thing about this contest is that the contest itself is still beneficial. Thanks Arron/Rokslide/prize sponsors.

That will just level the playing field for the rest of us Paul:)

Ya right, I wish! (grin) I will give it my all for whatever that's worth, hopefully I can heal up quickly & get back to a routine, if not, well that's the way it goes! Thanks!

You are not alone Paul, I'm over the big five O (since last August) Hope your hand sorts itself out soon, we've got to hold the fort!,
push up training has been a bit awkward, got sciatica for the first time ever a few weeks ago, but gritting my teeth.
Exercises pysio gave me seem to be working, apart from when I'm doing push ups! Doh.

Andy.

Im in, for whatever thats worth. Of course that is dependant on me being able to figure out how to download a video (my initial attempts with photobucket havent gone well). Jimbob, way to go, I actually might be overtraining because I sure havent seen real increases. I see no one over 50 has thrown out a number yet, I guess the older we get the more strategy becomes important :) James.

I hope they dont'.... seen enough...''I've just done 100'', posts to demoralise me/or should that be motivate me?;)

One!

Not quite 50 yet, sitting at 47. I was hoping for an over 40 category!

Been training pretty hard with the 100 push up challenge program and currently starting week 5. My stretch goal is to double my age.

Andy, thanks, the hand is doing better but still a ways from healed up, I've been forcing out a few here & there so I hope I don't let the over 50 crowd down! I'm a couple weeks short of 59 yrs but am happy to participate & see how I do. I'm betting Ross will post a big # (grin) Keep up the fight guys, we'll all feel better by putting our all into it! It's helping pass the slow winter months here in Idaho!

Not quite 50 here either (47), but max push up numbers aren't going up as fast as I like, going to be interesting to see if I can even double my initial test.

(those over 60 have figured out that pushups don't get you up the mountain)

As part of a balanced strength and fitness program, they don't hurt. ;) IME, the steeper and rougher the country gets, the heavier the load gets, the more upper body strength and core strength come into play. YMMV. :)

PS. I'm not over 60 yet.
