Who’s dealt with sarcosystis?

Harvested a late cow a couple days ago and all the meat on the entire animal is filled with these little white parasites. From the research I’ve don’t online it looks like sarcosystis but I haven’t heard from the game biologist yet to confirm it. Who’s seen it? Did you eat it or not?

I’ve always tossed ducks with rice breast but that’s on a different scale of waste compared to an elk.

While I’ve never seen it in elk I have heard others have in the area I hunt so I’m tuning into this.

I’d struggle to eat it personally.

So you would never eat bear meat?

Rice breast won't hurt you...freeze it for a week or cook it...either way will kill it.

Me neither - Nope.

I would also not eat that elk. Sucks, but no thanks.

It’s safe to eat it if you freeze it cold enough, but the thought of eating it makes me really uncomfortable.

I really hate to see meat wasted. So assuming all the research and reputable sources say there’s no risk after cooking or freezing, I would probably make a bunch of sausage and feed the rest, fully cooked, to my dog,
