I loaded up 50 6.5 CM 143 ELD-X, 41.5 H4350 and Lapua brass last night. This load has worked great hunting and shooting steel for years.

Anyone already got your hunting loads made up for the year?

6.5 Creedmoor 20” barrel Tikka CTR
143 ELD-X
41.5 grains H4350
Lapua LRP brass
CCI BR-2
2670 FPS.

7mm Rem Mag
Nosler Brass
Fed 215 primer
66.0 gr Reloder 22
160 gr Nosler Accubond

This is above published powder quantity, but no signs of pressure (in my gun).
Just shot 20 rounds this morning to verify zero and get more chrono data.

I loaded up 500 about 10 years back for 2023.
Sierra game king 150s in a 308 Win
46.0 RL15 /Fed210M
Remington Brass fully processed &neck turned
Primer and bullet sealed
2.825 oal. I hunt with these most.

Plus 100 loaded with 165 partitions
4064 /RP large rifle
Everything else the same
They compromise accuracy a little.
But they don't fail. I've had to shoot a few 300 pound boars right through the shield. Tracking a wounded boar hog ain't healthy. Funny you can kill one with a 22 mag with an ear shot.... But in a pinch, if you can punch a partition through the boiler room somehow they'll go down screaming.

That’s my recipe exactly, except Fed 210 primers. Deadly consistent.

Straight wall cartridge state so my 45-70 is loaded with the leverRevolution 325 GR bullet with 59.0 grains of H335 under it. I used Hornady brass and a CCI 200 primer. I get a consistent 1,900-1,920 fps from these loads. I am sighted in 2" high at 100 yards, and am confident out to 225 yards if a good rest is available.

7 SAUM is loaded up and ready for long range desert mulie hunt with 162 ELDX.

.260 Rem is ready to roll for northern whitetail with 129 SSTs.

No elk tag this year unless I sneak onto a rifle land owner tag in Wyoming; which is still in the cards. Will likely take the SAUM for a farm field long range shot.

I’m thinking I’m going to hunt with my standard all around shooting load in my 308 mpr

168 Eld M
44.0 varget
Fed 210
New prime brass

Don’t have a speed on it yet but it’s shooting sub moa and all I’ll be rifle hunting this season is a late cow elk tag.

Would Anyone here have heartburn shooting a cow out to 350 with an Eld -M?

I could take a bunch of different caliber rifles but I’d really like to get something with this gun.

mostly done.
45-70
410g sub x
21.5g 2400
1060 fps

358 jdj
200g ftx
53g cfe223
2400fps

still need to load
35 Whelen Rim
200g ttsx
62g cfe 223
2700 fps

6.5 PRC
129 interlock
52 gr IMR 4831
Rem. 9 1/2 M
Hornady brass
FPS 2850 Chrono'ed
Not a speed demon out of my 20" fierce CR but .5 moa all day long.
Better a slow hit than a fast miss. LOL

Got a 30 cal ammo can full of each. I will fill another of each soon so I can keep up with range trips in between, considering hunting season is basically this Friday-May:

223 Rem
77gr TMK
24.5gr TAC
2750 fps

6mm ARC
108gr ELD-M
29.0gr CFE223
2650 fps

Bought a two boxes of Barnes TTSX 180 gr 308. Already killed a caribou with them.....

Sorry, I'll shut up and leave my betters alone now. 😔
Dude! You killed a caribou. I've never even seen one! I don't think you have any better on this forum.
