Who shoots (or wants to) prairie dogs or rock chucks at LR?

I am curious who likes stretching things out in terms of varmint hunting/shooting?

What are some of your favorite rigs: Chamberings, bullets, and optics?

How many have taken critters beyond a grand?

Nothing past 700 for me, but I work on the rock chucks out to that distance. More of them in the 400 to 600 range. 22 CM with a 69 grain Lapua Scenar does the job pretty well.

I’ll shoot at them. Hitting a 4x6” moving target at long range is a lot of luck.

We have a group of guys that do a week long "rockchuck safari" every year. 9 of us in the core group.......2 of us in the 1000 yard club, everyone in the 500 yard club. 1500 is a beeeaaattch. Come damn close but no cigar.

Haven't broken 1000 yet. Farthest was a woodchuck at 990yds via 243ai w/105amax and 3.5-10x mark4 m1.

Every year in June, I help guys make their longest kills on prairie dogs. Wednesday used to be a ELR play-day. Now I am helping guys make pd kills beyond a grand. We had 3 make the 1K club. Cartridges used was 25 Creed, 6 Creed, and 22 Creed.

At the end of the morning with a free lunch on the line, I killed to past 1000 yards in 9-shots with my 22GT. It was a good day!
