Trial continued for Challis men accused of big game violations

I'm watching too... I've heard different dates floating around.
Second hand, but everything I've heard about Jerrod and Mike is they are solid guys.

The trial for two Challis men who face multiple charges related to their big game outfitting and guiding work has again been rescheduled.

Anybody have any interactions, or hunted around these 2 guys?

I did a goat hunt with Jerrod back in 2021. Great hunt, and he and his wife took great care of us. He was recommended by another outfitter who guides in an adjacent area and spoke highly of him as well. As I recall, the outfitter areas don’t exactly follow the hunt zones, so it’s kind of a cluster because the first guy had rights to guide in one drainage in the hunt zone I drew, and Jerrod had rights in the drainage I wanted to hunt. Because I wanted to hunt with an outfitter, it eliminated half of the hunt zone I drew, unless I wanted to pay two outfitters to guide me, which I definitely did NOT want to do $$$$

Like nothing has changed. Other than having to pull camps because of fire closures right now. They're going to keep playing the long game in court so they can keep guiding and making money in the meantime.

In Idaho an outfitter is permitted to guide hunters in their designated areas. Very specific boundaries. No grey areas.

Plenty of grey areas actually. If you knew how it actually worked and you knew the whole story I think you’d be on the side of the outfitter. As an outfitter you know the laws better than just about anyone. If you’re breaking those laws on purpose you should be punished. Not the case here.
