Which week?

@Fibonacci4u can you work remotely? The reason i ask is last year i rented a VRBO in the unit i had a tag the last week of August. Every evening i was off work at 3:30 and hit the hills, scouting and looking for elk. This year I'm doing it again (working remotely). Only I'm doing it the 2nd week of September and I'll be scouting with my bow in hand and then hunting f/t the last 2 weeks of season. Just a thought if you can.
That’s a great idea. I work from home somewhat. The somewhat keeps me tied down here, but I might be able to work a few things out. I like the thinking! Thanks!

I like them all for different reasons. I've hunted the first week the least and only issue with it is the weather and possibly being too hot still. If you get cool weather I'd prefer week 1.
Each week that passes in the archery season pressure continues to make the elk harder to get...including all the recreationalist hitting the last week for golden Aspen.

There's no BAD week to spend in the Sept Elk woods!

Quiet elk can be very difficult if you don’t know the area. I really like the week heading into ML. I’ve had some great days late, but the elk have been messed with a lot. Don’t underestimate the effects of ML on elk. They are going to kill some bulls. Pro tip…..look at your map for the tightest contour lines and areas outside road network…that’s where you will find 3rd and 4th week elk.

I'd get in the Monday that ML opens, chat up some of those folks as they are getting ready to bail, and hunt off that Intel.

If you could scout, I'd get some cameras up mid August, return at the end of the month, and hunt off that information for a few days. Then either reset cameras and return during ML (above), or stick out the rest of opening week.
Good ideas, and timeframe, except for the camera part. No cameras allowed in CO for that purpose. Rule has been in place a couple of years or so.
