Which rings would you choose?

Sam, what's your take on the NF Ultralights vs. the Vortex Precision (Seekins) matched rings? I have the Vortex on a couple rifles, but considering the NFs for the next one.

If Glen Seekins is making them, I'm sure they're nice! Still, I have no reason to deviate from NF ULs, though. If it ain't broke, don't fix it Plus I'm partial to the ring cap levels for the NF ULs.

Let's say you have a buddy, you tell him tighten his scope rings to 20" pounds per the manufacturer specs. He does the bases at 35, then forgets to adjust to 20 for the rings and tightens them to 35! I told him to back them off and retighten to 20....think the erector and tube will be ok? No sign of damage to the tube.

There are lots of good options out there. I have used and have Leupold, Nightforce, USO rings and a Spuhr mount.

I have NF and Badger but most of the stuff I buy now gets TPS TSR rings. They are nice for a collection but if I only owned one or two guns I'd get the NF or Badger. Personally, I can see no difference in quality nor performance.

bases at 35? sounds crazy tightt.... always per spec of maker though. mine are always at 15 inch pounds per the maker. 20 sounds wrong for scope ring screws as well.
