Why MR over the other brands? Doesn't seem like good value to me. Overbuilt, overpriced, not exactly known for its comfort under load, etc.

Exo's are pricey but well worth the money IMO. I switched from the mystery ranch sawtooth 45 to the K4 this summer and have been really enjoying the pack. That's not to say I didn't love my sawtooth.

Exo, Stone Glacier, Kifaru would probably round out the top pack companies.

That is my son’s opinion also. He has owned both.

Buy once cry once, best to spend the money on good stuff first then buying cheaper gear. You always end up buying the top brands because they are worth the money.

I tried on lots of different packs before I made my decision. I ended up with 2 MR packs, because they fit me best and were the most comfortable for my body.
I suggest you do the same. Try on as many as you possibly can (with weight). You might regret leaving your comfort in the hands of strangers on the internet.

I have an old Kifaru (20 years) and a Stone Glacier on a Krux frame. Both are very good packs. The Kifau frame is excellent but I much prefer the Stone Glacier bag (6900). You need to try on and buy the pack that fits you the best and then pick the best bag option for your needs. No one pack frame fits everyone the best. Same with bags.

Stone Glacier would be my 1st choice. Best pack I’m ever owned I currently own two.
