Looking at getting some new outerwear.. Which is a better all around set, the Yukon or the guide series?

I hunt Texas More than anywhere.. But also plan on doing a little bit of packing in Colorado and an Alaska trip next year..Which would be the best set??

The Guide would be my choice for Texas, but as shaun said, you're looking two completely different types of jackets.

Either of them would be fine in Colorado, as the Guide has one hell of a DWR finish and it doesn't rain a lot in Colorado, but the Yukon will be a better choice in AK.

I'd by both, you'll end up using them anyway.

I don't have any experience other than trying on the Yukon gear but as far as the guide series goes, I will vouch for the DWR finish. I hunt Western Washington a lot and its wet as shit, the guide jacket did awesome last year. I did however sell the coat and bought a different outter shell rain coat.

Any real waterproof hard shell is going to have some bit of noise. With that said you should consider the chugach rain gear because it is lighter and may serve you just as well as the yukon which is designed for guides using it all day everyday. If you are not looking for "rain gear" the dwr finish is awesome for what its designed for although it will wear off over time.
