I've been doing some research and am wondering what headlamp everyone uses. I have a Princeton Tec, black diamond and Petzel and all frustrate me one way or another, so I just ordered a zebralight hoping to get a balance of power to weight and also simplicity of one size battery for my gps and head lamp.

So which headlamps does everyone prefer and why?

Well, I voted for Princeton Tec as that is my main headlamp but I also have a zebra light that I carry as backup. I like the Princeton Tec for around camp as it has both red LEDs along with white. The Zebra Light is great for when I need a lot of light on a trail or whatever.

I own lots of lights and have owned some from all of the above. But I really am a fan of the the Zebra H600 and the newer H52. I used the BD revolt mostly this past season and I am now fully back to the Zebralights.

The Fenix is light, throws a great beam, is wide enough for butchering, and uses on AA for quiet some time. I like to only carry one kind of battery, for redundancy purposes. Hated having AAA's and AA's for headlamp and GPS. Now I load up each with Freshies, and throw in two or three extras and I'm done.

I have the Petzl zipka. Super compact. That is a huge value for me. As the evening approaches, I will slip this guy in the small chest pocket or I have even slipped it on my wrist and tucked it under my jacket sleeve. Having the ability to wear as a wrist mounted light is really handy.

I use a Mammut and a Black Diamond. Like the Mammut as it has three different settings, shoots a great beam (great for riding my mountain bike in the dark), and is easy on the battery.

I went with the ExtremeBeam OSR800 for my pack this year. Adjustable Focusing Beam. 160+ Lumens
So far I like it. Real bright.

I had the zebra H502 but just switched up to the H52 and although I haven't used it in the field yet I know I am going to love it. Has all the features of the 502 plus the spot which I missed.
I do like the red led option on other lights but the guys I hunt with never use the red lights at camp so it's worthless for me to use it.
I have also found the super low setting on the zebralight works well when your inside camp similar to the red led
