Which broadhead are you guys using?

Could you share your sharpening procedure? I'm having a hard time getting mine as sharp as I'd like.

Not sure what the original guy uses, but I use a file and ceramic rod for the cutthroat 3 blades.

It took me awhile to get the technique, but they will shave hairs. Alex D has some good YouTube videos on sharpening them. Now it takes me 2-3 minutes a head.

They’re not going to be shaving hair sharp in the same way a 2 blade can be in my opinion (although the shop can get them that sharp with their paper wheel) but they get plenty sharp for me with the file and ceramic, and didn’t have any trouble going all the way through an elk on a fairly long frontal shot a few years ago .

I’m looking for a quality broadhead for elk this coming fall in the 150-175grain range and looking for the good ones, and ones to stay away from. I’m leaning towards a 2 blade with bleeders. The iron wills are pretty pricey but if they are worth it, I may go that route.

Cutthroats work great.
