Another 338 edge fan here.... I have had 2 built on savage actions and one on a Rem 700... My OAL (same reamer) on all of them was 3.92.... None would eject a loaded shell without further work... I used to release the bolt on the savages.... Put a 4 inch wyatts in the remington and had the gunsmith cut a half moon in the front of the ejection port... This worked well...I wish I would have done that to the savages... Even grinding back the bolt stops is not enough to eject a loaded round...

That is an issue that I have with my .340 Weatherby with some bullets. I'll set this up for ejection of a 4" cartridge. It is annoying to have to pull the bolt every time.

If you are using the weatherby mark V action I think the largest mag for them is that 3.85 or close... They put a plastic spacer in the shorter ones and use different mag metal... The longest is the 30-378 type mag metal...

No, I'm using a Savage or an Enfield action. No issue setting it up and milling the ejection port appropriately. Magazine length is a non-issue at this point. I plan on running it as a single loader for now. If I want later on, I'll make a magazine and follower for it.
