Looks great! Quick question since this is a light weight mountain setup why go with they heavy NF over the Swaro Z5? Just wondering as the Swaro is so light weight.

Thanks guys! I'm excited to get this one finished.

I got an opportunity to review the Nightforce, so that is the reason I put it on this rifle. I may end up keeping it on the rifle, or I may go with an NXS 5.5-22 or a Leupold VX6 3-18. For now, the SHV is working awesome, and I plan to use it for a good while and really test it out.

10.5 lbs with bipod?

I haven't weighed it yet, but I would say it's really close to 9lbs with the bipod on it. I plan to weigh it this week some time, and I'll let ya know.

Very nice. Interested in hearing the total weight, and if you know the stock weight and/or weight without bipod that'd be great too....

Trying to decide on my ideal rig in the 8-9 lb range.

I hope to get it weighed this weekend. I'll take it apart and weigh everything separately.

Steve,
Mike didn't build it. (damn kid is too busy working in the oil fields)

Al Seaman did the machining and the stock is from Pendelton Stocks. Mike supplied the barrel. Still messing with loads. Haven't got it nailed down yet.

X2 and put a 215 Berger in it.

That's my plan Jeff! I may give you a call and pick your brain on a couple things.

Right on, we will have to get together and go shoot. I have been shooting LR a fair amount this year.

Steve,
Are you going on the Rokslide bear hunt/camping trip? We will be doing a bunch of shooting there. If you're going, we could ride over together. If not, we will have to get together for sure. I'll give you a call this week. We need to catch up anyway.

Did hellscanyon go out of business? Their web page is gone.

Hells Canyon is still in business, but Mike isn't selling all the parts and accessories like before. He is now focusing more on his carbon barrels and rifle builds. I know he is finishing, or just got done setting up a new shop.

300WM, as good as you can get in a 30 cal without going to the barrel burning RUMs. I've shot tahr out to 550m and roos at 650m and she's still got plenty of umph.

Taking the .300 up in the hills tomorrow. Brock and I are going up to confirm our dopes for next weekend's bear hunt. I'm really looking forward to shooting it at a little distance.

I've been getting sub 1/2 moa accuracy out of it with the 215 Bergers. I'm running them at 3026 fps. with 83 grains of H1000. My chamber is cut really long, which allows me to seat the 215's way out of the case and increase the capacity. I'm still fine tuning, so not sure where I'll end up.
