Any ideas how to get it level so I can mount a scope?

its got a little flat spot here and another right behind the receiver. I’m not convinced either are truly plumb tho.

One way to level your scope is place a peice of paper on the floor set your stock on that peice of paper perfectly centered on the stock heel to toe and shine a bright light through the scope. The cross hairs will print on the floor. Line them up with the straight edge of the paper. Done.
Otherwise just shoulder the gun and level them based on how you naturally cant the gun. It's not essential to have the reticle 100% square over your receiver what is important is its 100% square how you hold / shoot. David tubb has some great stuff on this...check out his scope set up for long range off hand shooting....doesnt look centered over the bore to me...it is however 100% level whenever he shoots. That's the important part

I stopped leveling my scope to the action. Instead I shoulder the gun and level the crosshairs on a plumb line. Then I set my scope level to match this. That way the scope is level in my natural shooting form instead of fighting it.

I've tried every which way but I just shoulder them and line it up with a door or corner, something plumb. The level level always seems to appear canted to my eye when I'm done

Get the wheeler scope level kit...one clamps on bbl, next sits on top the turret...qc with a plumb hanging across the yard or off the deck

I did some testing a few years ago and just leveled off of my shooting position with a level on my back wall. When you get zeroed in if you keep level after that your hits wont change. I shot out to 600 with little change in hits. Like said above if you put a level on my action it would be off but on to my hold.

I use the wheeler levels and one with the square block fits in the action level so I get the gun level in the vice, then I align the cross hairs with the door jamb in my sho that is perfectly plumb. Have never had an issue with this method. The other level I sit on top of the flat top turret with cap removed or top dial turret if no cap.

The final check I can see the vertical part of the reticle is plumb with the door jam, dissects the center of the bolt and the two screw holes in the recoil pad when standing behind
