I know Ebay and Craigslist but is there a dedicated site for used camper tops for older pickups? I have not had a camper top in years but I am seeing a need now for some quick and easy camping setups and storage from weather.

I’ve never found any good sites for camper shells outside of Craigslist or Facebook marketplace. Searched high and low for a camper for my 2006 Tundra and Craigslist was the best way I found to locate one. Then the decision of how far I wanted to travel and how much I wanted to pay for it. Took me months to find exactly what I wanted.

Id say a camper top for that truck is going to be a lot harder to find then for my ram 1500. Not as many on the road so less tops sitting around out there. Took me a month or so to find mine and i still have to paint it. CL and FB were my main places to look but id try the Toyota forums as well.

Campers and camper shells are tough now because the truck beds change so much yearly. It is difficult to find a used camper that specifically fits your truck. I just got super lucky and found one at a used camper shell dealer.

I would call a few local salvage yards. Might get lucky

Thank you all for the info and suggestions! Perhaps I should buy a new truck so finding a camper top would be easier.

I went through this a couple years ago. After about 6 months of looking, I just bought a new one and I have zero regrets. When you get it new the dealer will match the paint exactly (come to find out there are 4 different shades of my paint color available< based on when it was made) and you can get the features you want in the shell. I got an ARE and although it is not as nice as a Leer or Snugtop, it was nearly half the price. Good luck

I’m gonna have to bite the bullet and save up for a new one. I just bought a Toyota Tacoma in cement and that color is only a year old and pretty limited so not a likely chance for me finding a used canopy.

I was lucky and my 2005 Tundra came with a canopy... but, it would have been nice to pick and choose amongst all the options the new ones offer....

I bought a gray softopper for my cement 18 tundra. I like the look of it so far..
