Where to go in AK?

Give Larry Bartlett a call. He can get you squared away with an air taxi in the brooks range. I'm booked for a float hunt in 2015 northern brooks with Larry.

Threads like this are what make this site so great...nice job guys!

I'm years away from this...but just reading this starts to build some knowledge...I appreciate it!

Please make sure to share all trip reports:)

Here is one search engine that will show accidents by company or tail number, searching the NTSB database is another. One thing to remember is these folks operate aircraft loaded to max gross, flying in and out of remote strips and gravel bars. There will be minor incidents, the good ones stay in business and bad ones crash and are gone.

I have spoken to Jeff from Bushwacker Air and have several friends that have flown with him. He has a decent record, my friends have all been happy. I did hear some folks that were unhappy with Bushwacker this past fall, did not hear the specifics, but there will always be some that you just can't please.

The transporters that have been flying hunters for years are a sure bet, they book a year or two out. Any that has opening right before the season opens should be looked at with some caution.

40 Mile Air
Wright's Air
Coyote Air
70 Degree North
Brooks Range Aviation
Northwestern Aviation
Papa Bear

These are all top shelf transporters, this list is NOT all inclusive, just ones that I know and have used. They have been in the transporter business for many years.
