Can anyone recommend a good/cheap place? Looking to get one stock done in Mandrake and one done in something else, was thinking Sitka Waterfowl or FL Fusion...

I got my last one done at Athens Archery but they told me they no longer dip firearms :(

Dad has dipped his own. The keys are practice and prep but its really not that hard. Kneeling in front of the bath tub was the worst part. Bought the kits on ebay.

I've got a guy here in Tennessee, if you want to deal with shipping, that charges an even $100 for a traditional rifle stock.

I had mine done by a local company here in KC. They did alright but I had to have it done twice as they did not prep the stock on the first time and the base paint chipped away. The second go was alright but still have a few imperfections. Still, I'm happy with the results.

Anyway, my point that apparently I didn't actually type was that going with a local shop in your area will allow you to see their shop and examples first hand and they will be close by in case you are not happy with the results.

Sent my kimber montana stock to Meridian, ID to http://www.hydro-dip.com. They did a great job and I will definately be using them in the future. They did all the prep work, dipped in kuiu vias and finished with a great durable clear coat. Communication was good and stock was returned wrapped in felt and boxed wih care.

I saw a recommendation of NW hydrodip and I couldn't in good conscience omit my experience with them. Within one day of my being home the paint was chipping near the safety. They did gladly redo my stock but this time the dip interfered with the bedding of the rifle and paint continues to chip near the safety. And No there is no rubbing from the safety. The dip is one year old. I cannot recommend them for hydrodipping although the cerakote on my barrel they applied is well done.

I'll second this guys recommendation. My uncle used to work there, they dipped my muzzy last season and it turned out great, they really do great work. He no longer works there but I don't think I'll take my stuff anywhere else as long as they're around... As a matter of fact I got a few things there now getting dipped in kuiu vias. And while they aren't cheap, you get what you pay for...
