Yea i hook grip for heavy cleans and heavy snatch but i don't know anyone who does heavy deadlift with hook grip. When i have tried it, it felt like i might rip my thumbs off.

I do use switch grip for deadlift. It is a big advantage. I even switch grip with straps, just out of habit and comfort.

Agreed. Hard pass on the hook lift. The discomfort and risk of injury is just not for me. I'm good without straps till 315ish as well. I do some form of grip training during every workout.

Those are some great looking straps. 👌

Nice looking straps, like the leather on there.

I would be hesitant to use switch grip on deadlift, it is stronger of course but can also be the catalyst for injury. Typically it causes a small amount of rotation which if done repeatedly can result in imbalance and injury and I have also seen a few nasty bicep tears from it. If used sparingly with heavy but not outrageous weight it probably isn't an issue but with straps I don't see any reason for still using a switch grip other than taking some time to become accustomed to it.

I think it was American strongman Robert Oberst on Rogan saying deadlifting aint to good for a guy . I watched Eddy Hall pass out and have blood leaking out of his nose . Those guys are crazy . Nice straps

It's one of the best workouts possible. But pushing to those limits have serious risks. I almost never go below a 6 or 8 rep set now. I've just seen the higher weight stuff cause too many issues.

I always rotated my switch grip to prevent imbalance.
I do the same. I have never even tried a conventional grip with straps but i guess i should. I might like it.
