I used to do maintenance for the city, including the Sheriffs office. One day one of the detectives dropped his 9mm somehow and it went off and blew a hole in the stall door. Awkward...

Ugh... imagine doing that some place and you don't have enough extra water with you to at least do a cursory rinse-off!... ICK!

I guess you'd have to possibly rub it in dirt until you get off all the "visible" bits of it.

And the messed up thing is you need the darn thing to be with you, so I figure you'd HAVE to put it in your holster.

Hmmm, I suppose a Kydex Holster would for sure by the way to go with that problem.

Meh.. at least the Spinosaruses would leave ya alone...

What if you didn't clean it so good and there was remnants left on the backside of the slide and you weren't wearing safety glasses?

I suppose I just lost the right to give my 9 year old crap for poop jokes. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree I guess.

While that is a great old phrase, ya gotta wonder... Has nobody ever come across an apple tree in the wild growing on the side of a slope?

Wasn't long ago, out with the fam doing a hike and we take a sit in the shade on this trail line on a slope... and as I start to take in the scenery, I realize that among all these thin-ish trees growing on the downhill edge of this trail... I look up.. and see a wild apple growing!

I was trippin' cause this is SoCal. Not a place you associate with apple growing, ya know? So I have to figure some number of years back... somebody else must have stopped at this same spot on this trail... tired as they were from being far back in there, so they decided a snack was in order... and Voila! An apple tree growing in the most unexpected of places!

Another embarrassing one.

I know a cop in a town on an interstate that the Department of Energy nuclear convoys stop in to take a rest breaks. The timing of those convoys is a pretty well guard secret and while there are no clear markings, they fit a general description and police departments on the route know if they see something that looks like them to leave them alone.

Anyway, one night one of the businesses where the convoy stops calls the police department because they found a handgun sitting on top of the TP in the crapper.

The police department calls up the Department of Energy (I think one of their patrol's had seen the convoy, but not certain on that detail), which roundly denies a convoy passed through that night and will not have any conversation on the matter. Finally the local officer says something along the lines of "well if someone in the convoy that never passed through is missing a gun, tell them they can pick it up here" and hangs up.

The next morning a Fed comes by to pick up the handgun.

And yes, that story is vary vague on details because this is the internet and I have no interest in publicly giving out information pertaining to the movement of nuclear material.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

This is what happens when you loose situational awareness and need to recover a G43x....

SMH. What a mess and one hell of a way to start a bear hunt. Had to get through a school of wrinkle neck, corn back browns in that fishin’ hole to get to it...but, it was recovered. A couple of quick shakes and a rinse it functioned perfectly and fired despite being submerged for about an hour!

Just a reminder for those who EDC to have a plan for when nature calls and know that cargo pockets are NOT necessarily the best temporary storage solution. 💩

This happens more than you would think. I have retrieved 2 pistols, car keys, and glasses for visitors (Ranger skill 237). Duck tape 3 tent poles together, make a small rake with coat hangers, if you really want to be slick tape a small flashlight about a foot from the end.

It's a firearm, do whatever you have to do but get it out, clean it, and shoot. It's not like it fell into the worlds worst acid.
