What's your strategy for packing and then staying organized at your cot space in your camp's wall tent?

I use a Coleman cot. One made like the military cots. That’s important because of their height. It allows me to slide my clothes and gear under it.

I store my clothes in medium sized Plano sportsman boxes. Two will fit under the cot and still leave enough room for a Milwaukee medium box that I keep my gear in. Like batteries, chargers, hand warmers, gloves, head lamps, etc….

I put the Plano boxes in front to back and let the excess hang out towards the tent walls. I put my glasses, headlamp, phone, anything that I need on them like a shelf. Makes finding stuff in the dark easy.

I put my extra boots and camp shoes under the cot in the section that doesn’t have the Milwaukee medium tote.

Everything stays organized, dry, easy to get to, and out of the way. I’ve been doing a two week hunting trip for 25 years. It took some trial and error to get this system worked out. But, it works flawless for me. And, I do this whether I’m in a big wall tent, an Alaknak tent, or a smaller 10x10 browning tent.
I thought about using the milwaukee boxes. I like the modularity.

I like your system. Thx for sharing.

I bring and set up a smaller tent for gear overflow/emergency use. Most of my hunts are boating or flying in so I have extra space for extra tent. Primary is arctic oven and spare is NF VE 25.

I gave up hunting with a crowd (or even a partner for the most part) a long time ago, not long after I decided I definitely needed my own tent. If hunting with a larger group, a larger cook/hangout tent makes sense. Can’t imagine getting enough sleep to be productive in that setting.

I love the camp scene. Its part of the fun and tradition to me. Cooking and eating with the crew. But when its time to sleep I want my own space. I’m a pretty flexible guy overall but not negotiable on that solo sleeping space.

oh man, just went though this camping in a 'lean-to'. 2 trucks drove up, beds full back seat empty. Way back home, bed's full, but so was the back seat. And we got a late start to pack up on purpose. Couldn't imagine the mess at 4:30am packing up.
