You'd think that after a person has gone through the whole process a time or two they'd be able to fast track the process and not hold you up as long on the others but nope it's the same long wait no matter how many stamps you have.

It’s gotten longer. At least for me. My nomad ti took about 5 months, my banish 30 and banish 22 hit 8 months today.

Ha, we must have placed our orders real close to the same time because I'm waiting on a Banish 30 and two Banish 22's and I'm right at eight months as well. This is my first experience with Silencer Central and their whole process so it'll be interesting to see if it's as smooth as they claim. I'm hoping to see them before the first of the year but I'm not holding my breath.

November 2020 purchase stamp came back in mid-February 2021.
February 2021 purchase "still in process".......

I would have to imagine we’ll see more form 1 stuff coming out. I just did one and it was literally 2 week turn around on the stamp. The long waits are mostly what has kept me away from them in the past.

Beyond making them easier to buy / reducing wait times, I think ”introducing“ people to suppressors (and the process) is really beneficial to all of us.

If I’m at the range, I don’t hesitate to let anyone shoot my rifle suppressed. Usually I’m getting asked what type of silencer I’m using, what caliber, etc. I’ll let them do a comparison between “normal” and suppressed. I took my 78 YO uncle and he was giddy with how it worked.

FWIW - I’m running a TBAC Ultra 9 on a 308/300WM and people are blown away by the both the the noise and recoil reduction. .

The more people we get that understand the benefits of shooting suppressed will only benefit us all. If more people are willing to spend their $ the market will push out more and better silencers, which is what I think we have been seeing over the past few years.

Right now, suppressor cost is artificially inflated by:

1. A government tax stamp
2. Perceived difficulty of entry as a result of the bureaucracy
3. Artificial price inflation as a result of an artificially suppressed market caused by 1 & 2

As more people gain entry to the market through:

1. Increased awareness of legality stemming from the volume of suppressor owners.
2. Innovation by companies like Silencer Shop to streamline the process
3. More ranges offering "conjugal visits" to diminish the pain of approval wait times

Volume will increase, economies of scale will apply, and the cost of the units will decrease as quality increases due to competition. YAY Capitalism!

One thing I want to point out on the OP though, is that one of the biggest improvements has been standardization. The industry going to 1 3/8x24 thread to allow more universal mounts and QD options getting better/faster/easier are some of the improvements that really stand out to me.

What I would like to see is improving length and weight-

I have seen the integral suppressed barrels but haven’t tried one yet. So having a barrel contour similar to a fat carbon, could make the overall length reasonable, not sure how much they weigh….

Anyone try one?

A lot of that is simply more NFA gaming. The barrel being "integrally suppressed" is done to make the suppressor a permanent attachment for a 1-stamp rifle. It's similar to this competition 9mm PCC barrel from JP Enterprises.

16" OAL but it's 5" of barrel with an aluminum shroud permanently affixed for 11 more inches. Weighs 10 oz less than a standard barrel.

If it wasn't for stamps, I bet most suppressors would be integrals. It would just be how half of guns come from the factory.
