What's the coolest thing you've done with a bear hide?

Made a knife sheath out of one of my son's bear hides for a knife I built him. (He had a half mount done so the back half of the hide was unused.)
I shaved the leather so the hair wouldn't get bloody and be hard to clean. It wasn't my favorite leather to work with but it was ok...

That's awesome! What's bear leather like compared to cow leather?

It's softer than cow leather of the same thickness. I would liken it to working with pig leather. It was less inclined to hold shape when I tried to mould it to the knife shape. I had to stiffen it up by warming it and rubbing wax into the leather multiple times.
