On long (non backpacking but still packing lightish) trips I bring a backup pair of slip on boots for around camp or if I’m not walking far in the morning and want waterproof boots. 
I have been using Muck Muckster II Ankle boots for the past few years but a pair only lasts a single year (the tread wears off very fast).
Anything better out there? Ideally lightweight, lightly insulated, and with good tread.
