What's Replacing Sitka Kelvin Winstopper Jacket

I would think if they were going to replace it, they would have it for sale back in late summer. Before people gear up for the fall hunts.

I went on a journey to upgrade my down puffy Game this year. The WS wasnt on my list because I wanted a solid but I ordered 6 different jackets. Short version is that for me a montbell was best fit but I am on the bigger side. The RAB jacket was a second choice but didnt fit me well. The WS can still be had on sale here or there. In case you care about the others I looked at:

I have it on good authority that they aren’t replacing it. Was told they want people to focus on building a “system” instead of using one heavy jacket for cold weather.
What “system” are you supposed to replace it with? The Kelvin lite is less than half the fill and isn’t going to make up the difference with just an ambient jacket midlayer. And the blizzard parka is just another “one heavy jacket” that weighs half again as much, costs almost twice as much msrp, and will last a season or two with primaloft gold.

I guess we are supposed to replace it with a badass coat custom from goose foot gear or Nunuvat(sp?). And not pay for the sitka instafamous.

Oh I agree, the only reason I bought one is that for ~$200 it is/was a great deal. I would’ve preferred a solid color especially for a jacket that is only used for glassing and camp. But what I don’t understand is why sitka would cut it without replacing it with something that covers the same use case

Yeah, I have one also. I needed a serious puffy and didn't have time for custom stuff and got a good deal too. All the featherweight puffies out there just don't cut it when its 10 degrees and wind is blowing 22 mph.
