What’s My Problem?

If your problem is like mine ... I enjoy the process of experimenting with calibers, rifles, loads, and scopes ... and setting them up and dialing them in, than I do keeping them and shooting them. I just sold a 1/4 MOA rifle because I won't let myself be happy.

Funny you mentioned fishing. I fish for salmon, walleye, perch, bluegill, bass etc - in the Great Lakes, small lakes and rivers. Casting, jigging, trolling etc. 3 boats and 150 rods kinda covers it….

Honestly different waters and techniques, having dedicated setups in tournaments I can justify this disease.

I was getting there with guns until this wealth of knowledge here on rokslide shattered my myths and beliefs.

It does sound you may be blessed with extra funds and subconsciously putting energy into your next one degree of need.

Weather you agree with everything put forth here on rokslide or some regarding calibers and bullets at least consider what is really your lethal range currently and if you train what you aspire to. If less than 700 yards any short action cartridge in calibers from 22-30 can do that with the right bullet choice. If it 400 ish yards is your goal/limit same set up is fine and more traditional or conventional bullets are fine.

pick one or two, set it up right and shoot the hell out if it. Spend your money traveling hunting…

Just a thought.

I committed to my career almost 22 years ago. No regrets.

I committed to my wife 19 years ago. No regrets.

I’ve had nothing but Toyota Tundras since 2002. Some regrets.

The only muzzleloader I use is a TC Pro Hunter. No desire for a new one.

I’ve only owned two bows, both BowTechs. I’d still be on the first bow had it not gotten stolen.

Why can’t I commit to a rifle or cartridge? I only use a rifle when hunting for deer or coyotes. I may hunt for pronghorn and caribou someday, but that won’t matter. I’m always searching for something. What it is, I have no clue. If I’m in the mood, I can justify anything. I once had 5 different 7mm bored rifles pushing the same bullet in 100 fps increments from 2800 to 3300. That’s more like a set of irons than a rifle collection.
Maybe its your moniker and picture. A meat missle is never satisfied, neither is Axl.
