Mass is where the score comes into play so mass is key. Years ago 30" + bucks were fairly common. Now they are pretty rare in my neck of the woods. So when I see a wide buck it usually catches my eye.

Killer splits, seems like lots get crab claws up front, then mass, kickers may be a toss up with mass

All of those are great, but the experience is what its all about for me. As a photographer and hunter here in Alaska just being out is whats important!

I voted prior to reading the replies and pole, and figured I would be in the minority with a "mass" vote.
In years past I have second guessed myself killing bucks that were wide or tall, but never one that had a heavy rack.

I voted for mass. There is something uniquely special about a real heavy buck. Width and height aren't near as cool to me.

Wow that is a pretty tough question....I would go Height, Mass, and width. I am looking for a buck that has super deep forks, the kind where the backs start a couple inches from the beam.

Really, big is big. I think we all know what we are after when we see it:)

Mass, evident with this buck from December 18th, 2011. Over 7 hours to kill this buck as he was with 2 other bucks, 6 does and 4 yearlings.

I love it when that buck turns wide in the spotter. Mass is a close second, my buck this year had a cool palmation on his top right.

Reading the replies, I know I'm in the minority in choosing width, but that's what makes my heart stop on a buck. Might be a factor of me being a lesser experienced mulie hunter (compared to most here), but a big frame that starts with width is what I enjoy.

Wow! This is tough, it's like asking if there was a giant non typical standing next to a giant typical which one would you take. For me though it would be height followed closely by mass then width. Unless there was a drop tine, then all priorities go out the window!
