I’m in the market for new rain gear. I have had a few different jackets from first lite but they haven’t been lasting for then a few years. so I’m on the fence about buying rain gear from them again. What has been your experience with some of the other brands?

Sitka Dew Point and a ground blind. I've sat in a hang on stand in the rain enough for one lifetime. If it's raining, I'm headed to a ground blind. Seems like the older I've got the more comfort becomes a priority.

200+ yard walk from the house. I have rain gear but no desire to sit in trees stands when I can sit here... nice 6x6 with a 68 inch headspace at the front.

I wear a Chugach jacket and Kutana pants from Kuiu. This has been a great combo for hot weather this season. Its 90 here and 92% humidity and I wore it on my training hikes during TS Debby w/ the pit zips open all the time.

I used this gear in cold weather in MT this Spring and it worked well over a bunch of layers and again as a windbreaker on a nicer but still cold day.

Right now I'm using the SKRE pants and jacket. Haven't put it through a downpour yet but so far it's kept me dry. Besides not lasting a long time does the First Lite keep you as dry as I hear it does?

I have a set from KUIU that is 10 years old at least. Don't remember the model name. They are lightweight and pack into the pocket of the jacket and pants.

I’m looking at Canis. I listened to an EXO Mtn Gear podcast and they were reviewing them. The stuff is made for Alaska and they have a decent solid so I can wear it normally. Expensive.

Kuiu north ridge is plenty for whitetails. The heavier stuff is for busting brush. I’ve sat through some absolutely ridiculous, need your head checked for sitting in a tree, rain and been bone dry underneath the north ridge.

My insulated rain wear is Rivers West. It works great. I have endured some crappy weather and always come home dry...especially if I keep my hands down. the wrist cuffs can let a little water in if you are not careful.
Warm weather I am going with Kuiu Katana. 2 thumbs up.
