Not new to mule deer just to Idaho, looking for guys coming from Oregon and what was different / the biggest learning curve for them? Im coming from a heavily hunted lots of tags opportunity unit and the number of hunters looks to be similar for the tag I picked up. Road access is good in the unit, probably too good, i dont have an atv but it is a motorized travel restricted unit somewhat similar to what im used to.
So what was the biggest surprise or learning curve for those coming into Idaho for general season mule deer for the first time from another western state? Any gear you didnt have, anything vehicle specific to think about? Pressure way more or less than expected, Deer using different areas than anticipated, Does Oregon really suck as much as everyone say on the internet? Does not an atv put you at a disadvantage / are guys ignoring the rule as much as forums make it sound?
Have all the normal western deer / elk camp gear, wall tents if needed etc. Just looking for some insight that might save me from making more mistakes than I already will.
