Im a newbie to rokslide. I just discovered the site while doing research for a new pack. I ended up going with the Kifaru Nomad. So hello everyone. I will have more posts coming. I really enjoy reading the forums on here.

i just picked up a demo set of the zeiss conquests in 8x's, look pretty good to me but I have no experience in optics. I was using a set of nikon aculons prior, so these are a very large step up for me.

you can get Leica Trinivoids for that and in MY opinion only, they are BY FAR the best glass for that kind of money.....

I'd also take a look at some Mavens for that price range. Great glass for the price and a great warranty as well. Swarovskis seem to be the most popular glass on this forum (and for good reason) but they are also out of your budget.

I can't believe that in 3 pages nobody mentioned picking up a new lady :)

Another vote for Leica.

If interested I have a set of 10x42 SLC swaros that I plan on selling to make room for the EL ranges. Glass is great on them. Always been in in a bino pack. I was going to ask $1000. PM if interested.

Are these SLC HD or older model? An earlier post noted the Meostar weigh a ton, but are the same weight as the SLC neu. I have an 8x42 SLC HD and love them. There is a pair of 10x42 s for sale in classifieds around $1375, but that's quite a bit more than the others listed.

If you are relying on new binocs and price I agree that the Meostar are a Best Buy and excellent image. They are on the heavy side of 10x42 models at 32 oz. I think they fit larger hands better.

The razors have a great FOV at around 360', while most others are 330'. I think they are a little overpriced at $1200 retail or so. I saw a little more CA in these than the Meopta (similar to Trinovid). They are also one of the lightest 10x42 models around 26 oz.

They are the NEU from 2010. I believe that was the transition year between the NEU and HD. They were a great bino for me. I hope to be saying the same thing about the ELR's when I start using those. It's going to be hard to drop that money for them that is for sure. A buddy has the Leica Geovids that he has been praising for the last few years, and I believe he finally converted me to the whole bino/rangefinder combo.

I have owned two of the three listed. However they were in 8x . I still have the Zeiss and feel they are very solid for the money. They are a fixture in my whitetail pack and don't see them going anywhere soon.
The razors that I owned I felt way over priced for what they were, in fact if I was stuck with vortex I would get the vipers over the razors all day.
I haven't any good luck with cabelas branded products over the last few years and therefore have stayed away from them of late, some not so get customer service experiences have reinforced that. Taking it a step further I tend to stay away from rebranded products in general. So if was to go with a Meopta it wouldn't be via cabelas. That said I have seen some good reviews of there binos.

The advise for used Sworo's is solid as well. Also with binoculars in German staying with Sworo or Zeiss higher end offerings is never money not well spent in the long run.

I purchased the used SLC's from Buckskin. Great Guy to deal with and binoculars were in perfect condition just as described.
