Guys,

Just go the go ahead from the old lady to get some binos. My budget is 1K, and afraid that I may be dismembered and buried in the yard if I go over that amount.

I am planning on getting Lasik done here in the next month or so, and was thinking it would be a smart decision to wait until my eyes are fixed before shopping for new binos.

With that being said the three that top my list are:

1) Vortex Razor HD's 10-42

2) Cabelas Meopta 10-42

3) Zeiss Conquest 10-42

Which would you choose and why? Any others that I should also be giving my attention to?

Thanks ahead of time for any responses.

I'd call Doug or Neil at Cameralandny.com and see what he could do on the Meopta 10x42 HD's or the Cabelas version of those. Right there with the Swaro SLC 's.

When I had the Euros I sent them to Meopta for an eyecup issue. The lady there said Meopta does any needed warranty work for the life of the bino.

Very nice. If I did not have SLC's, I would be jumping on the Cabelas Euro for 839 on sale.

You need to look through them at low light outside in a side by side comparison at the store but my vote would be a used set of swaro's as well.

I've spent some time looking through , buying and selling binos and for my money the used Swarovski would get the nod the others you mentioned are fine glass , i really like the new Leica as well . And you can pick up some there hds used for a good price , but the Swarovski warranty is a longer one , holding a pair of 10 year old Swarovski els non swarovision and yeah there still a touch better than the vortex. But another thing to consider is the vortex is a little lighter a little more compact than the older els BUT I still would pick the swaro it just feels so solid and well made and in low light they will pay for themselves .. Buy once

I'd save a little more and wait a hair longer to get swaro. It took me 18 months, a birthday and Christmas of gift cards to finally aford'em, but well worth the wait!

Personally the difference in the 8x and 10x is negligible and prefer the 8x. Might want to check out the Trijicon hd's. I would pick the Leica or Zeiss over zwaro. I think they are over priced for what you get myself. I am not a fan of Vortex, and yes I know of their warranty. I would avoid Chinese made stuff, but that is just me. No Gabela's for me either.

I just picked up the euro 10s at the sale pric. Very nice glass and don't think I can get better for the money but they are heavy. Would have liked to try the 899 trinivid but none near me.

If interested I have a set of 10x42 SLC swaros that I plan on selling to make room for the EL ranges. Glass is great on them. Always been in in a bino pack. I was going to ask $1000. PM if interested.
